434359 - Bookmark Contextual Dialog can't be repositioned/moved/dragged around

The new Add Bookmark Dialog (launched by CTRL+D) saying "Page Bookmarked" can't be repositioned/moved/dragged around. 
   That is very annoying as it some times when activated pops-up in a not so fortunate position. Say on top of some tabs. I would like it to pop up under my tabs, or at least be able to reposition/move it.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.CTRL+D
2.Try to drag/reposition/move the dialog from its starting point/to another location by pressing down Left-Click and moving your mouse around.
3. Realize that it is not possible
Actual Results:  
Nothing happens. The dialog box is stuck. Won't move out of place

Expected Results:  
That you were able to move it around, just like you can with the (Bookmarks red.) Library (CTRL+SHIFT+B)

It was possible in FF2. But the whole appearance of the dialog box has changed. Now it doesn't have any header you can click on and use to drag it.
 
Hmm in my memory this behavior haven't always been in FF3. I doesn't recall it was there when I first tried FF3. But I have just tried with a fresh install (FF 3B5 Portable) and the bug was also present here.

P.S. have also just tried the latest FF3pre RC1 (portable style) and the bug was also present there (it have the same dialog without a header by the way)

Reply: Nah not really, but you could say that they have a lot in common. Both of the bugs would be fixed if the old interface with the blue area at the top was reintroduced (the one e.g. used by CTRL+SHIFT+D). 
But the thing the two bugs request is all different. What I miss ALOT/request is being able to reposition/move/drag around the 'Add Bookmark Dialog'. What they request in the other bug is to be able to resize the 'Add Bookmark Dialog' (its correct that about 3 people also mention that they would like to be able to move the dialog as well, but its not what the bug is about). 

Also there are a somewhat workaround for that bug, mentioned by bug 418864 comment #25. There is nothing close to a workaround for this bug.

Correction: just looked in my MozillaZine thread (link above) and in there someone makes me aware that there is a way to make the dialog appear in another location, than on top of the tabs: http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?p=3800505#p3800505
But this is a minor improvement/not at all satisfying behavior. This semi-workaround doesn't make the dialog draggable/movable

Bug 451915 - move Firefox/Places bugs to Firefox/Bookmarks and History. Remove all bugspam from this move by filtering for the string "places-to-b-and-h".

In Thunderbird 3.0b, you do that as follows:
Tools | Message Filters
Make sure the correct account is selected. Click "New"
Conditions: Body   contains   places-to-b-and-h
Change the action to "Delete Message".
Select "Manually Run" from the dropdown at the top.
Click OK.

Select the filter in the list, make sure "Inbox" is selected at the bottom, and click "Run Now". This should delete all the bugspam. You can then delete the filter.

I can understand the potential desire to be able to move the popup, however, I don't think we need to support it. As far as I know this is the only request over the last 10 years, and it isn't something we see complaints about.

The pop-up is temporary, and does go away if you click outside it (I don't know if it did 10 years ago).

So I think this is a wontfix.
