STR:
  1. Start Firefox with a new profile
  2. Go to ~/Library/Caches/Firefox/Profiles and look for a directory with your new profile name in it.

AR:
There isn't one.

ER:
There should be one.

Note that on second run the profile cache directory is created. This means that certain files are not created. Does caching not run on first run? More importantly, since urlclassifier3.sqlite lives here, does that means the phishing database isn't updated (see bug 434624 and bug 435365)?

I can't confirm this (testing with Firefox 3 RC 1 on OS X 10.5.2).

How did you give yourself a new profile?  (I just quit Firefox,
renamed my ~/Library/Application Support/Firefox/ directory and
restarted Firefox.)
