When shutting down, PC, doesn't store sidebar state.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Open history sidebar, and exit Firefox
2. Re-start Mozilla, and switch sidebar to bookmarks.
3. Shutdown machine
4. Re-start machine, and re-start Firefox.
Expected result:
Shows bookmarks sidebar
Actual result:
Shows history sidebar, but title says "Bookmarks" !!!
I find it interesting that the title is now correct, but the actual
sidebar contents are incorrect.
I will add attachments showing the odd title to the sidebar.

I was not able to reproduce this on Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9pre) Gecko/2008052506 Minefield/3.0pre
Interesting, for me, it happens every time.
Is that a nightly build you're using?
My version string is as follows:
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-GB; rv:1.9) Gecko/2008051206 Firefox/3.0
Note the slightly different version number, and language.

The nightly builds can be downloaded here:
http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/nightly/latest-mozilla1.9.0/
Still failing with the following build:
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9pre) Gecko/2008052606 Minefield/3.0pre
.... Which is the same as yours.

Did you try e.g. deleting localstore.rdf, safe-mode to rule out extension/theme problems, a new profile?
Not yet, Hopefully I'll have time to do this kind of digging next weekend.
My plan of action would be:
1. Make backup of current profile
Try to repeat the bugs in the following cases:
2. Try launching with clean profile.
3. Try launching in safe mode.
4. delete localstore.rdf
Ok I can still repeat in the following cases:
1. Re-start XP with clean profile (profile 'A').
2. Launch safemode minefield (using the clean profile), re-start XP..., launch ordinary minefield with profile 'A'.
3. using clean profile, Select following options in safemode:
*disable all add-ons
*reset toolbars and controls.
*reset bookmarks to defaults.
*prefs to defaults.
*search to default.
then re-start, and open minefield with profile 'A'
NOTE:
In some cases I was only adding bookmark sidebar, when none was shown.
In this case, re-start would snow no sidebar.

P.S. All these tests were don on the following Minefield version:
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9pre) Gecko/2008053006 Minefield/3.0pre
Finally, I have re-started my normal profile 7-15 times over the last week in minefield.
On each case the bug appeared.

I'm fairly sure this works correctly now. If it doesn't, we'll need up-to-date STR.
