User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-GB; rv:1.8.1.14) Gecko/20080404 Firefox/2.0.0.14 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-GB; rv:1.8.1.14) Gecko/20080404 Firefox/2.0.0.14 Creating a keyword for a search makes a bookmark in the bookmark root folder. The bookmark just leads to errors when clicked by attempting to search for %s. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: If I go to the website: http://www.pdb.org and create a keyword for the search box (right-click in search box, and select 'create keyword for this search'), then a bookmark is created in the bookmark root folder. This bookmark directs me to an error page with it's %s nonsense (http://www.pdb.org/pdb/search/navbarsearch.do?newSearch=yes&isAuthorSearch=no&radioset=All&inputQuickSearch=%s). Such bookmarks (created only for keyword purposes) should be hidden entirely or at least automatically put in a tidy folder. No point in them if clicking directs me to an error page... Actual Results: Errors from webpages because of attempts to search for %s Expected Results: Bookmarks should either take me to the homepage, like a normal bookmark or be tidied away since they aren't usable.
"Take me to the homepage" would be bug 298697. I like the idea of having them automatically tidied away somewhere, though.
yes, it's a pity we create a dummy bookmark to manage the keyword, confirming for brainstorming
