bookmarked URLs are yellow, but derived URLs should be another color besides "clear"; e.g., if http://www.yahoo.com/ is bookmarked, then http://www.yahoo.com/foo/index.html should be, say, blue.

So you now that "the" page still are in your bookmarks even if its not exact the same URL, much more easy to now if the page are in the bookmarks or not if it are that way

a domain could contain multiple sites, so havin the main bookmarked should not give false informations in the sub-sites.
So i doubt this is a wontfix

By why can´t it be optional or something..... Thats way it work now are not a good way to handel it.

there's not a good way because if i trust www.domain.com and bookmark it, it's not sure that www.domain.com/subsite is trusted or secure, that change would give a false sense of security.

WONTFIX per comments #1 and #3, both are valid reasons to not show an un-bookmarked URL as bookmarked if the path-less domain name is bookmarked.

Bug 451915 - move Firefox/Places bugs to Firefox/Bookmarks and History. Remove all bugspam from this move by filtering for the string "places-to-b-and-h".

In Thunderbird 3.0b, you do that as follows:
Tools | Message Filters
Make sure the correct account is selected. Click "New"
Conditions: Body   contains   places-to-b-and-h
Change the action to "Delete Message".
Select "Manually Run" from the dropdown at the top.
Click OK.

Select the filter in the list, make sure "Inbox" is selected at the bottom, and click "Run Now". This should delete all the bugspam. You can then delete the filter.
