Steps to reproduce: (1) Start a fresh build of Mozilla Firefox 3.0 RC2. (2) Go to Edit, Preferences. Expected results: Preferences panel. Actual results: Assertion failure. Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9) Gecko/2008060420 Minefield/3.0 cc'ing reviewers and assigning to Jonas per bonsai on the assertion line. The bug in question is classified and unavailable to me, so I'm not sure who to punt it to.

Trunk builds of Thunderbird hit this assertion as well.
Is this still an issue on trunk? On Mac I can open preferences without asserting.
On Linux I don't get this assert when opening preferences. Should we close this then?
