User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686 (x86_64); en-US; rv:1.9) Gecko/2008052912 Firefox/3.0 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686 (x86_64); en-US; rv:1.9) Gecko/2008052912 Firefox/3.0 I frequently want to search for a a word of phrase present on a web page. Usually I highlight it and then use the context menu's 'Search <currently selected search engine> for "<selection>"' function. But depending on the context (pun intended!) I often need to use a different search engine than the one currently selected in the search box. So I first have to change the selection in the search box, then go back, re-highlight the word or phrase and then search. It would be great if the context menu would have a sub-menu to select which search engine to use in order to search for the highlighted word/phrase. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: Select any word or phrase on a web page. Right click. Try to use the context menu to look up the word in a dictionary or on Wikipedia or try to use any of the "specialty search engines" you have configured on the search-bar. Actual Results: Notice that the context menu only offers you the currently selected search engine. Expected Results: I'd like to have the option in the context menu to select which of the available search engines to use for my query. I someone can point me to the XUL for the 'Search <currently selected search engine> for "<selection>"' function in the context menu and the XUL of the search box itself I might try to write an extension/patch solving that problem myself.
An extension already exists, apparently.
