I had a profile with 1 Gmail IMAP account, 1 news account, 1 not-logged-in POP account and a RSS feed. So I left Thunderbird idle and after awhile, found this assertion trapped in the console.

Possibly IMAP biff or RSS download?

There have been so many changes in nsIChannel, and indeed elsewhere, that it's unlikely this still occurs.  If someone is able to observe this assertion in a current release, please reopen.
