Do you have the WMP plugin for Firefox? It doesn't come by default (licensing issue?)
Unfortunately I cannot check this myself, I'm not in Italy.

dunno, I have this "Windows Media Player Plug-in Dynamic Link Library" into Add-ons -> Plugins, shipped with my 3.1a1
anyway, if it was a plugin problem, FF would not crash but not display the streaming content.

I can't see the video, but the page doesn't crash.
Can you install the latest beta ( http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/nightly/latest-trunk/ ) and test this bug in safe mode or with a blank profile?
If it works so, but not with your normal profile, probably it's a problem caused by an extension. So try to disable them one-by-one.
When you find the problematic extension(s), inform us and its author. Then change the resolution of this bug as WORKSFORME if you are sure after these tests it's not a Firefox problem.
