User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.2; en-US; rv:1.9.1a1pre) Gecko/2008061203 Minefield/3.1a1pre Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.2; en-US; rv:1.9.1a1pre) Gecko/2008061203 Minefield/3.1a1pre Firefox 3 is unresponsive for 30-50 seconds when first started. This is accompanied by a lot of disk thrashing. After that first lockup, it seems to run fine. I believe this started happening after I added my Bookmarks from Firefox 2 (which does not have this problem). Is Firefox 3 trying to preload my RSS feeds? This has happened with every release candidate I have tired, plus the last two nightly builds, Jun-11 & Jun-12. My hardware/software is a Thinkpad T43, 1.86GHz, 2GB memory, Windows XP SP3. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. boot computer 2. start Firefox 3. try to do anything after Firefox starts up: click on Toolbar bookmarks, etc. Actual Results: Boot computer, or if already booted, make sure you are starting Firefox 3 for the first time since booting. This happens the first time Firefox is started after booting. It occasionally happens after Firefox is shut down for a while and then is restarted. However, if it is restarted right away (within a couple of minutes), there is no lockup/freeze. Expected Results: Firefox is unresponsive for 30-50 seconds, i.e., nothing happens when clicking on any menu item, bookmark, etc. Firefox should respond.
