User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X 10.5; en-US; rv:1.9) Gecko/2008061004 Firefox/3.0
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X 10.5; en-US; rv:1.9) Gecko/2008061004 Firefox/3.0

I have noticed a major problem that did not exist in Firefox 2, but does in Firefox 3. When I open a few windows/tabs that contain some Flash objects (like YouTube embeds or ads), the scrolling is VERY slow, close to 1-2 lines per second. My CPU is a PowerPC G4 1.33 GHz chip. These are the webpages I used to demonstrate this problem:
http://www.crownheights.info
http://www.youtube.com
http://www.jewlicious.com
With three windows open, the slow scrolling becomes very apparent in the CrownHeights.info window. I noticed this problem existing since Beta 5, but thought each release would fix the bug. I tried contacting people in the Firefox IRC chat, and they're no help. I'm hoping someone fixes this critical bug for the 3.0.0.1 release at the very latest.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Use Mac computer with G4 chip with >1.2 GHz speed and Leopard installed.
2. Open the three webpages listed above in separate windows (http://www.crownheights.info, http://www.youtube.com, http://www.jewlicious.com)
3. Attempt to scroll down in CrownHeights.info window.
Actual Results:
Scrolling speed decreases in CrownHeights.info window, to nearly intolerable when scrolling past some embedded YouTube videos (may not be on front page, you might have to dig into entries pushed into subsequent pages).

Expected Results:
Scrolling speed should be comparable to that in Firefox 2, with minimal decrease in speed past YouTube embeds.
Version: unspecified → 3.0 Branch
I followed someone's advice and disabled all but the Flash plugin, and it made no difference. Merely turning off the Flash plugin, on the other hand, led to a dramatic improvement in scrolling speed.

This bug report should be closed, because the reporter has not respond within two years.
I'm closing a lot of bugs which are filed as Adobe Flash bugs which are either irrelevant, not actionable, or not serious enough to track in the Mozilla bug tracker. For the most part, Flash bugs should be filed in Adobe bugbase, and we'll only track a few highly-critical issues in the Mozilla tracker.
