Would be good to have non-north american DIDs to give cheap or toll-free access to european contributors

European contributors have a hard time dialing in to the Thunderbird status call because some of them can't use Skype or other VOIP systems from work.
Is it possible to source european DIDs? (asian DIDs would be good as well, but aren't as pressing right now AFAIK)

We have one in Denmark already if that'd work.

It acts just the same as the US number for what extensions you can dial and so forth.

What I can say for *me* is, that a local (German) dial-in number would suffice, as
I have a fixed-line phone flatrate at home and at the office, which is more and more the case in German homes.
Calling a number from another European country is basically the same as calling an US number from a price point of view.

Dave -- do you know where I can find a list of countries for which we can get DIDs? At the very least Germany, UK, France, Spain, Poland seem like countries worth getting DIDs for. But I don't know where to source them.

United States, Canada, Denmark, and China.
That's it. At least through our current providers. We would need to search
out and contract with a new provider in one of the countries we want a number
in probably.

Also possible we could come up with numbers in Japan and France via Mozilla Japan and Mozilla Europe if they felt like helping us out, and have phone systems capable of routing SIP or IAX traffic.

If we want international DIDs, we'll need to source them form somewhere else, there is a pretty extensive list here (look under Retail Service Providers):
http://www.voip-info.org/wiki/view/DID+Service+Providers
Just need to find a provider that supports the countries we'd like and that at a minimum does SIP forwarding and ideally native Asterisk (IAX2)

Moving to mozilla.org, they will be running the phone infrastructure for us, so leaving this up to them.

Exploring a shift to Global Crossing hosted conference calls and GBLX has a number of world wide toll free numbers.
I'd prefer to go that route.

Haven't seen a lot of comments in this bug. Two things:
1. The GBLX conference services are working well
2. Each Mozilla Space will have local numbers.
