439945 - Session restore load one blank tab

When session restore is activated, the last tabs should be opened, instead, there is only one blank page.

This has been tested with and without Session Manager extension, with and without master password.

It doesn't seem to be content related as the bug doesn't rise every time with the same tabs.

I didn't explore a lot of possibilities to solve this but I found someone who did this without success: 
- new profile
- without add-on
- clean install (not over a previous version)
- safe mode

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Activate session restore
2.Open several tabs
3.Close firefox and re-open it

Actual Results:  
No tab, just a blank page

Expected Results:  
The session should be restored correctly

It seems that the bug happens only when Firefox is closed using close button (X). The session restore works when using File>Quit

I can confirm this with Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; de; rv:1.9) Gecko/2008052906 Firefox/3.0
Actually for me it does not work at all (not just sometimes) when closing via the close button however just as Gawain stated it works perfectly when using the File>Quit option.

I'm using Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9) Gecko/2008052906 Firefox/3.0 and I can also confirm that sessions are not saved and history is not saved either when using the X to quit or when using the keyboard shortcut ctrl+shift+w. Using File/Exit does save the tabs.

I'm using Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; fr; rv:1.9) Gecko/2008052906 Firefox/3.0. This bug is not the same as bug 398817 as I don't clear navigation data but still have it.
From the posts I read, I wonder whether it is not present only on the french version of FF3. Is it possible? All my extensions are now uninstalled. Anyway, using File/Exit does not save the tabs.

Another possible cause for this symptom is if Tab Mix Plus was disabled/uninstalled before it's had a chance to reactivate Firefox' own Session Restore component. See bug 435055 comment #6 for how to fix that issue.
