User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.5; en-US; rv:1.9) Gecko/2008061004 Firefox/3.0 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.5; en-US; rv:1.9) Gecko/2008061004 Firefox/3.0 When opening a new window (i.e., the app is running, but there are no open windows), the default window size is maximized. It should remember the window size from the last opened window. Also, the zoom button no longer works properly. In Firefox 2, clicking the zoom button toggles between a user-selected window size, and a window size just narrower than the screen, which allows the user to still click on desktop icons. This is preferable to the Firefox 3 behaviour, which is to toggle between a user-selected window size and a maximized window size. Maximize should be avoided on Mac for two reasons: first, maximizing a browser creates a lot of webspace, because the vast majority of websites are not designed for high resolution screens, leaving a lot of whitespace on either side of the content. Secondly, maximizing hides the desktop, preventing the user from interacting with desktop icons, and preventing functions like drag and drop, which is integral to the Mac experience. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Start firefox 2. 3. Actual Results: Window is maximized Expected Results: Window size should be the same as the window size in the last session This occurs with the default Firefox 3 theme, as well as with the GrApple Yummy Blue theme. My desktop resolution is 1920x1200.
I agree. I open up a browser and it's immediately all over my screen. Saving files to the desktop require me to select the max toggle "button" (the max/other max size toggle) which makes the window unusable in the other direction because it is only big enough to BARELY accomodate close/min/max toggle "buttons". My workaround is to "teach" firefox every single time I open it "thank you for the bloody huge window, but lets try something like I had last time and we can go back to the huge size later when I select the max toggle "button". OS X 10.4.11 MacBook Pro Default Theme 3.0.3 untested with HalloFF 2.100608 thought I would second this bug.
