User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; es-ES; rv:1.9) Gecko/2008061822 Firefox 3.0 MEGAUPLOAD 2.0
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; es-ES; rv:1.9) Gecko/2008061822 Firefox 3.0
After downloading and decompressing the Firefox 3 from http://releases.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/3.0/source/firefox-3.0-source.tar.bz2 and configuring .mozconfig to build with es-ES locale support, the build system says that is unable to checkout the l10n folder from cvsroot due to the inexistence of a user with username anonymous with password anonymous
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Download the source tarball from ttp://releases.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/3.0/source/firefox-3.0-source.tar.bz2 and uncompress it
2.Set up your .mozconfig file without setting any mk_add_options LOCALES_CVSROOT
3.execute in the shell the following command: make -f client.mk checkout
Actual Results:
Unable to checkout locale "ab-CD" from cvsroot because the user anonymous:anonymous does not exist
Expected Results:
Checkout succesful
The bug can be fixed easily adding the following to the .mozconfig file
mk_add_options LOCALES_CVSROOT=:pserver:anonymous@cvs-mirror.mozilla.org:/l10n
Note that this is only to anonymous people without commit access to the mozilla source tree

Are you building on windows ? If so, are you using Cygwin or MozillaBuild ? I think this problem is limited to only some cvs clients.

I'm using Mozilla Build 1.3 on Windows XP SP2 with Visual C++ 2005 Compiler, after adding mk_add_options LOCALES_CVSROOT=:pserver:anonymous@cvs-mirror.mozilla.org:/l10n at .mozconfig all went well, but building previous versions of firefox i didn't need that line

Ok, what does "cvs -v" return ?
It only affects Firefox 3.0 because bug 347156 only landed on HEAD in cvs (2.0 is off MOZILLA_1_8_BRANCH in cvs).

cvs -v returns the following:
$ cvs -v
Concurrent Versions System (CVS) 1.11 (client/server)
Copyright (c) 1989-2000 Brian Berliner, david d `zoo' zuhn,
Jeff Polk, and other authors
CVS may be copied only under the terms of the GNU General Public License,
a copy of which can be found with the CVS distribution kit.
Specify the --help option for further information about CVS
So, the version of the cvs of mozillabuild is the 1.11
