Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.9) Gecko/2008052906 Firefox/3.0
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.9) Gecko/2008052906 Firefox/3.0

I set the "Show my windows and tabs from last time" option in the Startup section, opened multiple tabs, closed Firefox and yet, Firefox doesn't load the tabs from my previous session. I even tried to set the startup option to "Show my home page" and then opened up multiple tabs to see if Firefox would ask me to save the tabs, which it did. But then telling it to save the tabs had no effect when I closed and reopened Firefox.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Set the "Show my windows and tabs from last time" option in the Options dialog
2. Open up multiple tabs
3. Close Firefox
4. Reopen Firefox
Actual Results:
Firefox did not retain my tabs from my previous session.

Expected Results:
Firefox should have opened up all of the tabs that were open in my previous session.

I am using a 64-bit version of Windows Vista Ultimate. This bug occurs with the default theme.

did you check "Always clear my private data when I close Firefox" in the
privacy panel ?
yes, but I don't know why that would affect this because in Firefox 2, I had that option checked and Firefox still retained my tabs, it just cleared my private information.
the contents of all of your tabs and the back/forward history aren't private information?

lol, yes, but is there a way to still make it retain my tabs but clear my browsing history?
imagine: you like to have your favorite 20 websites in tabs, or 20 websites on a certain subject you have built up from multiple days of searching. you want to be able to go to a site you don't want others to see. you don't mind if others see the site on the certain subject you have open and would prefer firefox to always leave any current pages open because that is one of the primary features of the browser. I still can't understand why they have no desire to make the above scenario possible.
