On many pages containing frames (e.g. Java API page) with javascript handling some load functionality, an infinite loop is created. e.g. http://javacsv.sourceforge.net/

Please run Firefox in the firefox safemode :
- http://kb.mozillazine.org/Safe_mode

The safemode is FF without addons and if it works here you have a broken addon. Disable the addons in the tools/Addon manager one by one to find the broken one.
Do you have the skype addon installed ?

I dont have the skype addon. Starting up in safe mode seemed to fix the issue. 

I have
Adobe Acrobat
Google Updater
Itunes application detector
Java Platform SE 6 US
Microsoft DRM
Mozilla Default Plugin
Quicktime Plugin 7.4.1
Shockwave Flash
Silverlight Plugin
Windows Media Player Plugin Dynamic link library

Of these I would only say Flash was a desired plugin. All others were 'sneaked' in. But whatever.

You listed plugins and not addons.
If this works in the safemode then this is a addon/extension problem.
Disable the addons with Tools/addons one by one to find the addon which is causing this issue. If you found the addon send a note to the developer of that extension about this problem.
