User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.9) Gecko/2008052906 Firefox/3.0 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.9) Gecko/2008052906 Firefox/3.0 I use a custom keyboard layout created using Microsoft's Keyboard Layout Creator 1.4. Beginning with Firefox 3, I get one or more "Default beep" sounds on starting Firefox, and when I next type in any application, Windows acts as though the dead key Alt Gr + '"' had just been pressed (this produces the '¨' accent). Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install my custom Keyboard layout "Langeland International". 2. Start Firefox 3. 3. Type a character in any application. Actual Results: - Windows "Default beep" sound plays one or more times during startup. - The character typed will be accented or preceded by the accent character, e.g. 'ï' instead of 'i' or '¨g' instead of 'g'. Expected Results: - No "Default beep" sound during startup. - No unexpected accent character. This occurs even when just starting the Profile Manager with "firefox -profilemanager".

No, this bug has long since disappeared. I'm not sure what release resolved it.
