Robert, this is the complete list we have right now, anything of that that needs to stay? Should the mlp_older stuff move over to seamonkey?

Erm, you need to specify where to redirect to for every single page (or set of pages). You didn't specify any target and we probably need different targets for different docs.
I'd rather not have non-SeaMonkey pages on SeaMonkey, but the older downloads should be accessible with a big warning about being historic/archive stuff, ideally. We should redirect to the mozilla.org archive site probably, once everything there is ready, because we have a copy of the "old" mozilla.org (more or less current, has been cut a few weeks ago) up there and will have the whole site have big warnings about being archive stuff.

It might be a good idea to add redirects from some of those docs to their up-to-date counterpart, but I don't have a list of such correspondent URLs. What we have, is an archive of mozilla.org though and all 404 pages on the actual site contain a link to their counterpart on the archive site.
So I think it's best to replace the main page with a short explanation and pointers to the current docs and the archive and just delete all the rest of the contents of the directory.
Summary: old mlp/l10n docs should redirect → Deal with old mlp/l10n docs

This is the new MLP main page I'm proposing - Axel, please take the review as a request for the rest of the plan as laid out in the last comment as well.

Axel, could you please mention here what's your problem with that approach? We're having some of our pages removed there resulting in dead links because of the ongoing www.m.o cleanup effort and you personally have told me in Barcelona you're in favor of just removing this content which is basically what this patch is supposed to do..

new MLP main page content
From IRC:
<Pike> KaiRo: I'd remove it without placeholder. I'd think there would be only old legacy pages pointing there anyway. The placeholder is just making us discuss the same thing again later on, I'm afraid
("it" is the whole projects/l10n directory, actually)

I still think that page directing people to better places would have been better, but I just did a cvs remove of the whole projects/l10n directory.

Kairo, thanks for taking care of this. We can always add redirects or an explanatory page later if people get confused by the change.
