User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; fr; rv:1.9) Gecko/2008052912 Firefox/3.0 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; fr; rv:1.9) Gecko/2008052912 Firefox/3.0 If you middle click on a word (try with this page, it should works), firefox open in the current tab a (random ?) page. Often, there is a "URL is not valid and could not be loaded" but sometimes . If you try to Ctrl-click a word (it should be the same behavior, isn't it ?), a rectangle is drawn around the text. It does not sound normal but maybe... Tell me if I'm wrong Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Go to bugzilla.mozilla.org and do as if you wanted to post a new bug 2.In the page where you fill in the fields, try to middle click on words 3. Actual Results: Actual results ? Actual .. real result ? In french actual means current so ... Never mind, Firefox open a page and it should not. Expected Results: Always display "URLS is not valid..." Could you display the "URL is not valid" message as "Do you want firefox to remember.." (non-aggressive) ?
In about:config try setting middlemouse.contentLoadURL to false. http://kb.mozillazine.org/About:config
Where exactly do you middle-click, is it inside a text field?
If you are clicking outside of form controls, this is a duplicate of bug 135884. Ctrl-click selects the current table cell, which explains the rectangle you see sometimes (when the text is inside a table cell).
