I have an applet that used to run fine on firefox 2.0.0.7. This applet creates a new window using DOM. In firefox 3 the popup bar shows "Firefox avoided a popup window from this site" (in my Spanish version: "Firefox evitó que este sitio abriera una ventana emergente"). In the options it's impossible to allow the popup, since it says "allow popup windows for" [No site]. So I can't add this site (my pc) to show the popup. However if I run the page from web (I set up a local webserver) Popups are allowed.

I run into this same problem a few days ago.
I am using Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.0.3) Gecko/2008092510 Ubuntu/8.04 (hardy) Firefox/3.0.3

Is there any solution or workaround but disable "Block pop-up windows" in Preferences??

also constated with ubuntu 8.10 ff 3.0.5 using th htm file in http://www.ac-noumea.nc/maths/amc/polyhedr/stuff/test.zip 

the click Terrace works, click Brussels doesn't.
adding the internet URL of this last site in the exceptions doesn't allow to open the link.
However one can open directly this Brussels link ( http://xavier.hubaut.info/coursmath/ ).....which, if added in the exception list, open a pop-up ......from my FAI???
