User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; fr-FR; rv:1.9) Gecko/2008061015 Firefox/3.0
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; fr-FR; rv:1.9) Gecko/2008061015 Firefox/3.0
In ubuntu hardy + firefox 3, go to this website : http://www.ultimagames.fr
It takes about 10 seconds to open (on a 2x2.2Ghz with 2Go ram), then each scroll step takes about 5 seconds.
I tried on a very old computer (512M ram, DELL D600) with Windows XP + firefox 3, it takes about 1 or 2 seconds only to load, even if scroll are quite slow (but faster than on ubuntu).
Is there a problem with the linux version of firefox?
It makes the navigation on some websites totally impossible.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Go to http://www.ultimagames.fr with ubuntu-hardy+ff3
2. Wait
3. Wait again ... :)
Actual Results:
big lag
Expected Results:
normal nagigation

In most cases the extension Interclue might help, because it displays on hover the contents of the page as a tooltip/popup in a simple format.

But it is indeed a nasty problem for owners of less fast computers.

I also have the same problem using latest Ubuntu Hardy 8.04.1
Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; fr; rv:1.9.0.1) Gecko/2008072820 Firefox/3.0.1
Computer: P4 2.4GHz, 1Go RAM
When I switch to WinXP (dual boot), FF3 is much faster.
Note that I use exactly the same profile folder on both systems, but this problem was also present before.
