New locales need to have in-product pages used by Firefox listed here: http://l10n.mozilla.org/webdashboard/?project=0&task=Firefox+3+in-product+pages Since web pages are a moving target with content and markup changing over time, Pascal will follow up here with the status quo on that.
I am attaching to this bug an archive of html files to translate for the website. Files to translate are: - index.html files - main.lang file Please also provide the following information in the comments of this bug: - your language spelt in your alphabet like: French -> Français - Two strings for the security page: 9 days of risk 284 days of risk These two strings are used in a chart you can see there: http://www.mozilla-europe.org/en/firefox/security/ The html markup should not be modified. Thanks
(In reply to comment #1) > I am attaching to this bug an archive of html files to translate for the > website. > Forwarded to translators. I'm sure they'll ask me where to find the .po and which tool is recomended to do that. If I might answer other thing that: "there are not .po files, use the tool you prefer" just advice. > Please also provide the following information in the comments of this bug: > > - your language spelt in your alphabet like: French -> Français > Galician -> Galego > - Two strings for the security page: > > 9 days of risk > 284 days of risk > > These two strings are used in a chart you can see there: > http://www.mozilla-europe.org/en/firefox/security/ > Perhaps I'm having troubles with my connection, but "Firefox can't find the server at www.mozilla-europe.org." I'll try later until a succesful connection allows me to provide you those two strings. I Thanks,

No .po file for mozilla.com (fortunately!), they should use the text editor of their choice, as long as it supports UTF8 encoding.

This the full Galician translation of the Firefox 3 Web parts.
Suso, the files suffer from many problems like: main.lang -> strings now have "" around them files are not all encoded in UTF8 you put html entities for accented letters which is useless with UTF8 some php codes were converted in entities so pages won't display line feeds were changed in tabulations there is an extra Thumb.db file added in one of the folders, a parasite file created by Windows. Translations for the web parts should be done in a normal text editor in UTF8, the software your translators are using are corrupting files.
Received and forwarded to translators. They are commited to send the correction before next wednesday.
REVISED Firefox 3 Web parts for Galician Hope all problems were sucesfully corrected.
(In reply to comment #6) > Suso, the files suffer from many problems like: Pascal, just tell me if something might be done with that. I hope translators solved all the problems you signaled. Thanks for that!
I had a quick look at the files and it looks ok, I'll work on creating the pages this week.
Hey Pascal, thank you very much! This reminds me that next 24th July is the "National Day of Galicia" and that will be a great opportunity to create a synergy there because we mainly celebrate that day around the Galician language. As Galician version of Firefox 3 is a very expected thing here [1], I'll can manage to organize some mediatic event in order to officially present the translation attracting downloads. Just tell me if you see that possibility, and I'll manage. Of course if Tristan wants to be present at the event, we'd love to invite him to come. [1] There was a happily-solved controversy around Galician translation http://standblog.org/blog/post/2008/05/22/I-love-you-too-Galego

Suso, can you email me privately about the event (pascal@mozilla-europe.org)?

suso, could you translate the google snippets used on the start page ? http://l10n.mozilla.org/webdashboard/?locale=gl I don't promise that Google will use them, but we will update them for all locales real soon and I can ask.
Pascal, done: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/attachment.cgi?id=331758 I'm sorry by the delay: I suffered a head-crash hard disk drive failure on 17th. Fortunately all data was finally recovered, I'm getting up to date right now. If something might be done urgently here, just advice. Thanks,

Hi Pascal: l10n dashboard shows an High Priority Bug pointing here (442895) but I can't manage to find what I might to do to solve that bug. http://l10n.mozilla.org/webdashboard/?locale=gl Just tell me and I'll do Thanks!
I haven't reviewed your work in details yet and I am at the summit in canada now, I will close the bug when I get time to test everything.
Perfect, thank you very much Pascal! :-)
Pascal, translators are ready to deliver thunderbird and sunbird translations. They asked me if there are web parts too for those two, perhaps you know about that? Also, if you don't mind, I'll tell them to release their tranlation stress as I understand that the majority of the web parts is ready, pending on your review of those las lines I translated. If I'm wrong on that just tell me. Thanks in advance,
Suso, there are web parts for Thunderbird but they will be hosted in the future on mozillamessaging.com so it is not necessary for now to worry about it. AFAIK, there is no web part for Sunbird. Your web pages are online, you can review them visually, ex: http://gl.www.mozilla.com/gl/firefox/tips/ in the above page, there are some untranslated strings used in our javascript calls, could you provide an updated copy of this page? Ex: Mozilla.Pager.NEXT_TEXT = 'Next'; Mozilla.Pager.PREV_TEXT = 'Previous'; Mozilla.Pager.PAGE_NUMBER_TEXT = '%s of %s'; document.write('<div class="key-combo-text">Middle Click on link</div>'); etc. Thanks
Suso, could you update the tips page based on the last comment? thanks
(In reply to comment #23) Of course. Just confirm me if this is the right way: a) Dowloading the html b) Translate untranslated strings c) Upload the translated html as a an attachment to this bug Thanks,
yes, that's the correct way, here is the source file : http://svn.mozilla.org/projects/mozilla.com/trunk/gl/firefox/tips/
(In reply to comment #25) Uploaded attachment with the parts translated, just tell me if it's ok. Thanks!
Attachment #338598 - Attachment mime type: text/html → text/plain
The strings '⌘ + click on link' and 'Middle Click on link' are still in English
Hope this time its full
Attachment #338840 - Attachment mime type: text/html → text/plain
I just noticed that the title variable is not translated: Mozilla Products | Tips &amp; Tricks I will update it myself to: Mozilla Products | Suxestións e trucos I think we can close this bug now, I may open other bugs for minor issues like titles. Thanks Suso!
