smb protocol handling in Firefox 3.0 is almost non-existent. So it would be very nice if firefox would allow to assign external application (like nautilus) for smb and other supported protocols.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Enter any smb address in address field (like smb://192.168.1.1/)
2.Press "Enter".
3.
Actual Results:
Firefox 3.0 shows blank page without any reaction.
Expected Results:
Should show samba shares or give message about not supported protocol or (better) launch external application (must be assigned by user) to view smb.

It is supposed to be possible: http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/The+protocol+is+not+associated+with+any+program
There is a limitation, though: bug 321306.
