User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9) Gecko/2008052906 Firefox/3.0
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9) Gecko/2008052906 Firefox/3.0
After upgrading to FF 3.0 I am finding a variety of menus are displaying 'black boxes' instead of expected characters (e.g. in place of long dashes, in place of characters denoting a menu item longer than the available menu box width, and sometimes just at the end of a menu label, for no obvious reason). This shows up in drop-down menus, browser tabs, the Options --> Network control panel, etc. (Can't believe I am the first to report this, but cannot find an earlier report).
I do not see this problem in any other app I am running, including TB 2.0.0.14, and did not see it prior to the FF 3.0 upgrade.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start browser and view menus - note character rending errors in some cases.
Expected Results:
All menu characters should be correctly rendered.
I am running XP, with Service Pack 3 recently (last week) installed.
Installed and active FF extensions are:
Forecastfox 0.9.7.6
IE View 1.3.7
Link Widgets 1.6
Live HTTP Headers 0.14
ChatZilla 0.9.83
FireFTP 1.0
Resurrect Pages 2.0.2 (updated as part of the FF 3.0 upgrade)
