If Firefox is not running and when clicking a web page link in an email, Firefox does not start correctly. Firefox is listed in the Windows XP Task Manager Processes but Firefox does not appear on the monitor. You have to start Firefox manually and then when clicking a web link in an email, the page opens in a tab.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Clink on a web page link in an email.
2.
3.
Actual Results:
Firefox is not running. Open Thunderbird and click on a web page link in an email. Firefox's profile manager is not started and Firefox does not come up. Firefoex is listed as a running Process in Windows Task Manager.

Expected Results:
Profile manager should open to select a profile and start Firefox.
Before Firefox can be started after a link in an email is clicked, you first have to end the Firefox process in task manager Processes list.
Product: Firefox → Toolkit
I have also noticed this problem in Vista. And in other programs besides Thunderbird, notably Gravity.

Nor does it seem to be related to Firefox already being up as suggested above - it can happen when the computer has just been brought up, has linked to the internet, and has initiated Thunderbird.
Hmm.. clicking an html file on my desktop won't start it in Firefox either.
likely bug 395891 which will be fixed in v3.1
