Summary of offline irc: - this is en-US only release, there are no l10n builds - there are no updates being produced
Comment 2•16 years ago

Any update/suggestions on when we could get going with this together?

Apart from the usual version, tag, and pullDate changes, this guy also puts in the right kernel version for the move from the nightly tb boxes to the 1.9 production system. Hoping to start on builds around 4pm EDT Thu. Before starting, need to figure out what is going to happen with tagging l10n with only en-US in shipped-locales (and not wanting to build any locales).

Comment on attachment 331043 [details] [diff] [review] [checked in] Update tb-moz19-bootstrap.cfg Forgot to say that the milestone of 1.9.0 is only used to create the relbranch name of GECKO190_200..., since we skip changing milestone.txt for non-Firefox builds.

I guess so given the pullDate. Looks fine.

Committed a follow up fix to tb-moz19-bootstrap.cfg http://bonsai.mozilla.org/cvsview2.cgi?diff_mode=context&whitespace_mode=show&subdir=mozilla/tools/release/configs&command=DIFF_FRAMESET&file=tb-moz19-bootstrap.cfg&rev1=1.4&rev2=1.5&root=/cvsroot In testing I'd found that GenerateRelbranchName needs at least "1.9.0.". Tagged with RELEASE_AUTOMATION_M10_1 to match (not because Bootstrap changed but because I wanted to retag tinderbox for the branding changes T'bird made recently).

Still to do, run the Stage step to groom the files for the mirrors, and final tidy ups before release. We'll need to know if any of the locales built should _not_ be shipped before running Stage.
Whiteboard: waiting on QA results

(In reply to comment #18): > We'll need to know if any of the locales built should > _not_ be shipped before running Stage. I´m tracking this at http://wiki.mozilla.org/Thunderbird3/TestResults/Alpha2/L10N ... I think I got all the build1 locales listed

(In reply to comment #19) Still planning a basic smoketest for the other locales ?
Comment 21•16 years ago
|

I think we should do as much testing on the locales as possible, but wouldn't block on a bad locale. We're late as it is.
Comment 22•16 years ago
|

Looking at the l10n test results, the sk and es-ES builds are busted. Can we do a re-pull here or do we ship without those, because it's an alpha and we're already late.

Comment #21 indicates we wouldn't respin bad locales. Any chance of at least completing the Download/Install Spotcheck on all locales ?
Comment 24•16 years ago
|
||
l10n_pullDate is 2008-07-14 12:00 PDT Change to shipped-locales was made according to l10n tinderboxen state about one week later (or?) -> some builds are broken - they were ok when looking at tboxen but broken on 07/14. We should either make new builds or consistently test all L10n builds as there could be another busted.
Comment 25•16 years ago
|

No one else in L10N has picked up the builds so I just did some quick inexperienced spot check: * sv-SE also FAILs * all others PASS Noted on http://wiki.mozilla.org/Thunderbird3/TestResults/Alpha2/L10N I think those results are strong enough to proceed given David's comment 21

QA activities updated at https://wiki.mozilla.org/QA/Thunderbird3/TestResults/Alpha2 -- these are partial results and there is still more to compile, mostly spot checks. Note: there was no testing for Mac PPC. Note: amended results - some people tested the wrong build

es-ES, ka, sk, sv-SE locales were not staged for release, based on the test results. Details of how at https://wiki.mozilla.org/Releases/Thunderbird_3.0a2:BuildNotes#Stage
