User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.9.0.1) Gecko/2008070208 Firefox/3.0.1 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.9.0.1) Gecko/2008070208 Firefox/3.0.1 Because Firefox 3.0 reports that Adobe Reader 9 is incompatible, it terminates the entire download process. I have to go to a separate Adobe website in order to get the Standalone version of Reader. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. go to Adobe Reader website and click on Download button 2. give Firefox the OK to download 3. Firefox will report that the plugin is not compatible and then terminates. Actual Results: Returns to Adobe website and does not allow the installation of Adobe Acrobat Reader. Expected Results: Allow the download and installation of Reader 9. Just do not allow the incompatible extension to be installed.
Exactly what does Firefox say about the plugin not being compatible?
I am having the same problem, the error message I get is: "Adobe DLM (powered by getPlus(R)) 1.5.2.19 could not be installed because it is not compatible with Firefox 3.0.1."

This is an issue that Adobe need to resolve. They are using 3.0.0.* for the maxVersion for their extension where they should be using 3.0.*. Kev, are you the right guy to reach out to them?

Summary: Adobe Reader 9.0 cannot be installed → Adobe Reader 9.0 downloader extension uses incorrect maxVersion
Presumably this is a problem on any Windows hardware. Is it a problem on other platforms?

Isn't an issue on OSX
Can I presume this is no longer an issue?
I think it doesn't happen anymore. Let's close it.
