the viewsource stuff reloads the entire page instead of showing the already loaded one. so it clearly shows the *wrong* content.

Can you please give steps to reproduce with more information? I am not sure what you are talking about exactly.

This just bit me again today. btw I think there's roughly half a dozen or so bugs that seem to be about this or similar issues.

1) Load webpage (in this case it was a page from my company's intranet)
2) Hibernate; go home; power on again (I don't think hibernate is really required; it's probably just one possible trigger for purging the cache or somehing)
3) Try to do a "view source" on the tab showing the page

=> FF tries to go out over the network and reload the page instead of displaying the source of what I'm looking at.

This obviously fails in my case since I can't get to the intranet from home; additionally, even if it would have been able to get the page again, it would have showed me the source of the page as the server is handing it out right now, instead of the source of the page as I'm looking at it.
