449164 - RFE: Auto-publish for calendars

If one could automatically publish WCAP calendars (either after a change, as part of the periodic refresh for WCAP or as a scheduled job), it would allow Macintosh users to push their WCAP calendars across to iCal for sync purposes.

I figure this would be fairly simple to implement. I'm not a coder, so it's beyond my ability but I'd be more than happy to write up a configuration walkthrough to make it easy for users to take advantage of the functionality.

This add-on is not compatible with Sunbird 0.8, and with the 0.9 release coming it's going to be less likely to work. There is already an option to automatically publish local calendar changes, surely the same functionality could be duped across to WCAP calendars given the manual publish works perfectly.

Checked for a newer version of the add-on and it exists however it doesn't use the internal publishing mechanism that works and doesn't talk to a webdav server - thus not working with iCal. The built-in functionality works fine, it just needs to be triggered automatically. 

Also, it only automatically exports on close - not whenever a change is made. Thus it still requires manual intervention.

Commenting on this old request since I have a great interest in seeing it implemented in 1.0.

A lot of users in our corporate environment travel or prefer to leave their calendars local. (thanks to data loss bugs already reported and fixed for Sunbird 1.0, they don't trust remote calendaring)  We have a central WebDAV calendaring system.  The majority of my users would like to see auto-exporting features so that Sunbird could simply export their calendars in order to make it easy for others to see when they are available.

Will this feature ever come?

Rob, your use case should rather be fixed by implementing full offline mode (i.e synchronize when coming back online).

Aside from that, the "Automatic Export" extension should take care of all other needs.
