Steps to reproduce:

1. In gmail's standard/ARIA inferface, in the "Chat" section, click on options.

2. In the resulting menu that appears, press Up and Down Arrow to change the focused/selected item.

Expected results: Appropriate events would be emitted with each focus change.

Actual results: No events are emitted with each focus change.
Joanie, does the menu to set the status on the same page also exhibit this problem? If that menu works correctly, then this is not our bug. Google might not be using/changing aria-activedescendant on that menu yet.
I've seen different behaviour with this menu on Windows as well.

If the other menu works correctly, please close this as "resolved invalid" and we'll get the word out to Srinivas Annam about this.
Marco, I do get events for that menu. Closing it as you described. Thanks for the clarification!
