Whenever I open a new browser window, the first sigle click on bookmarks (next to file, edit... in the ff main menu shows the "add to bookmarks" screen instead of my bookmarks. Since I use this menu very often this new behavior makes me really crazy. After the wrong behavior occurred once in a ff window, the bookmarks menu works as usual.

this problem is new since 3.01 and was not there in 3.0(incl. beta)

(vista32 German 1920x1200, vista 144dpi upscaling enabled, but disabled for ff in ff.exe compatibility options, ff preloader)

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.open ff
2.click on "bookmarks" - add to bookmarks screen is shown but not wanted
3.click on bookmarks again - finally the bookmarks are shown
Actual Results:  
add to bookmarks screen is shown

Expected Results:  
my bookmarks are shown

show the bookmark list

See bug 406646 and bug 442177. Attempts to reproduce this problem were in vain. And the problem is that developers need to be able to reproduce it in order to fix it.

I think I found the problem with this. I had a old page bookmarked that had my old FF2(Firefox 2) browser info. Not sure Im explaining this right but say I went to google searched under news clicked a link and bookmarked. so I revisited the page, made sure it was http://www.whateverhere.com/ and re bookmarked after deleting the old bookmark. Problem is gone.
Hope this also works for everyone else.

Never mind my last comment that doesn't work as soon as I add 32 bookmarks the problem comes back. So looks like I will only be useing 31 bookmarks.
