User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.5; it; rv:1.9.0.1) Gecko/2008070206 Firefox/3.0.1 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.5; it; rv:1.9.0.1) Gecko/2008070206 Firefox/3.0.1 Try to stay with the cursor over the link in the header of the url I have reported, wait untill the tip( alt information) appears, then move the cursor inside the linkable area. You'll see that the hand cursor disappear. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Try to stay with the cursor over the link in the header of the url I have reported 2. Wait untill the tip( alt information) appears 3. Then move the cursor inside the linkable area Actual Results: the hand cursor disappear. Is show the arrow cursor. Expected Results: showing the hand cursor
Severity: normal → major
Summary: hand cursor disappears after the yellow tip is shown → hand cursor disappears after the tooltip is shown
Humm could you send screenshots of what you expect and what you have ? I don't get the hand at any level in the URL field, instead I get the arrow or the "select" icon (not too sure how to name that one). I seem to have the same behaviour on Safari and I think this is the expected behaviour.
(In reply to comment #1) With HEADER I mean the logo of the webpage I have reported (http://typographica.org/). Try to stay with the cursor on the logo(it is a link) wait to see the additional info (the yellow tip that show the alt info of the tag a) then move a little bit the mouse and the hand-cursor will disappear even if you you are still on the linkable area! > Humm could you send screenshots of what you expect and what you have ? If you mean the place where you have the icon "TT" before the http:// I never get a hand but an arrow. Same on 3 different macs running FF3.0.1. Aleksej2 on /qa also has the arrow icon on a Debian.
(In reply to comment #3) Forget about the url field, I mean the logo(Title, is even a link other than a logo) inside the page I have reported... > If you mean the place where you have the icon "TT" before the http:// I never > get a hand but an arrow. I can reproduce a minor variant of this problem on OS X 10.5.4, but it's only really apparent on OS X 10.4.11. 1) Load http://typographica.org/ and hover the mouse over "typographica" at the top of the page. 2) Wait until the tooltip appears ("see more of this typeface"). Then, before the tooltip disappears (4-5 seconds), move the mouse slightly (keeping it within the "typographica" block). On OS X 10.4.11, the mouse cursor changes from a hand to the (default) arrow. It doesn't change back to a hand until you move the mouse out of the "typographica" block and back over it again. On OS X 10.5.4, when you move the mouse its cursor usually changes into an arrow and then immediately back to a hand. But sometimes, if you move the mouse only a very little bit, the mouse cursor turns into an arrow and stays that way ... but only until you move the mouse again (within the boundaries of the "typographica" block). The difference between OS X 10.4.11 and 10.5.4 indicates that Apple is at least partially at fault here. But ultimately this appears to be a consequence of the fact that Cocoa widgets uses a non-native implementation of tooltips. So that's where this problem will need to be fixed (if it can be).

10.5.4, FF 3.0.1 - I get exactly what original bug describes. It looses it's link cursor, but the link is still an active clickable link. This bug becomes a usability issue with dropdown menus, because when reproduced over a second level of a dropdown, the menu is dropped. Mac FF3 only, reproducible on test html of only an anchor tag with title attribute. Omiting the title attribute results in normal behavior.

I have the same issue as comment #5 using OSX 10.4.11 and Firefox 3. Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.4; en-US; rv:1.9.0.5) Gecko/2008120121 Firefox/3.0.5 This has been an issue since I've started using FF3 vs FF2
