When a URL is typed into the URL bar that results in a redirect, history lists show the pages in an incorrect order.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. I type google.com into the URL bar. This redirects to http://www.google.com, and since I live in Canada, redirects again to http://www.google.ca
2. Look at either the history menu, the history sidebar (and select View->By Last Visited), or the library history (History->Show All History)
Actual Results:
Pages appear in the all of the above mentioned lists in the following order:
1. http://google.com
2. http://www.google.ca
3. http://www.google.com
Expected Results:
They should appear in the correct chronological order:
1. http://www.google.ca
2. http://www.google.com
3. http://google.com
Maybe all 3 entries shouldn't even be shown; but if they are, the should appear in the correct order.
I have verified that this problem also appears on Mac OS (3.0.1), but does not happen in Firefox 2.0.0.16 (Mac)
I ran wget to see exactly how the redirect is happening:
$ wget http://google.com
--00:00:51-- http://google.com/
=> `index.html'

Sometimes, older pages even get mixed into the list, as shown in the attached screenshot. However, I can't as reliably reproduce that.

Bug 451915 - move Firefox/Places bugs to Firefox/Bookmarks and History. Remove all bugspam from this move by filtering for the string "places-to-b-and-h".
In Thunderbird 3.0b, you do that as follows:
Tools | Message Filters
Make sure the correct account is selected. Click "New"
Conditions: Body contains places-to-b-and-h
Change the action to "Delete Message".
Select "Manually Run" from the dropdown at the top.
Click OK.
Select the filter in the list, make sure "Inbox" is selected at the bottom, and click "Run Now". This should delete all the bugspam. You can then delete the filter.

History menu right now filters out redirects, and the sidebar has correct order. WFM!
