Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.0.1) Gecko/2008072820 Firefox/3.0.1 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.1a2pre) Gecko/20080812020515 Minefield/3.1a2pre The history sidebar is not consistent in how it deals with redirected pages. If the sidebar is open when you visit a page that redirects, it will only add a single entry (for the final destination of the redirect). If you close and re-open the history sidebar, it will show more than one entry. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open the history sidebar (Ctrl-H) 2. Type google.com into the URL bar, which redirects to http://www.google.com (and then possibly again to a country-specific site if outside the US) 3. Only a single entry -- for the final page of the redirect chain -- appears in the history sidebar. 4. Chose history sidebar and re-open Actual Results: After re-opening, there are now multiple history entries representing the single typed URL. Expected Results: The expected behaviour is that the contents of the list should not change when I close and then re-open the history sidebar. There is also the question of whether or not redirects should *ever* appear as multiple entries in history lists, but that is in bug 428690.

marking duplicate of bug 428690, since the "list should not change issue" is caused solely by that bug.

Bug 451915 - move Firefox/Places bugs to Firefox/Bookmarks and History. Remove all bugspam from this move by filtering for the string "places-to-b-and-h". In Thunderbird 3.0b, you do that as follows: Tools | Message Filters Make sure the correct account is selected. Click "New" Conditions: Body contains places-to-b-and-h Change the action to "Delete Message". Select "Manually Run" from the dropdown at the top. Click OK. Select the filter in the list, make sure "Inbox" is selected at the bottom, and click "Run Now". This should delete all the bugspam. You can then delete the filter. Gerv
