453054 - Changes to order of bookmarks are lost with browser close->reopen

I am able to drag bookmarks around to change their order in both the toolbar and in "Organize Bookmarks".  The bookmarks then appear in the correct order in other (pre-existing) browser windows, new browser windows, etc.  If, however, I close all the browser windows and restart the program, the bookmarks revert to their previous order.  The bug showed up *most* of the time... but not every time.

Since Bug 405198 is "fixed", I am re-submitting.  Also, its not *exactly* the same thing.

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Open a browser window.
2.Left-click on a folder in the bookmarks toolbar
3.Click and drag one of your bookmarks to a different location within the same list.
4.Drop it.
5.Close Firefox.
6.Open Firefox. Observe the order of the bookmarks in the folder you just changed.
Actual Results:  
The order of the bookmarks reverted to the order before they were changed.

Expected Results:  
The changes should have held.

Default theme.  Recently upgraded to Firefox 3.0.1
Windows XP sp 3
Not sure if there's a way to work around it.

could you check in about:config if importBookmarksHTML is set to true and set it to false if that's the case? please report results here.

browser.places.importBookmarksHTML was set to true.  I set it to false.  It seems to be keeping my changes now.

However, I don't remember doing anything in my configuration to change the default behavior.

Also, I found a work-around.  I can make whatever changes I like to my bookmarks, then go to Organize Bookmarks and backup my bookmarks, after which my changes stick (I don't have restore).
