It seems that this problem only appears when I use a caldav provider. I have a lot of task entries. When I set the status of all tasks to "closed", set the display filter to "future tasks", after that I restart Thunderbird, no entry is shown in the task list of the task view. But there is some text in the message box of one of the closed entries.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. use caldav
2. close all tasks
3. set display filter to "future tasks"
4. restart Thunderbird
5. go to task view
6. see, that there is no entry in the task list, but...
Actual Results:  
text is shown in the message box

Expected Results:  
no text, because no task is shown in the list (also nothing can selected to display a text in the message box)

Duplicate of Bug 414535? Sounds like the same issue (preview pane in task mode shows task although no task is selected).

Can you still reproduce this issue using Thunderbird 3.0 RC2 and a recent Lightning 1.0pre nightly?

I can't test it with Thunderbird 3.0 RC2 and a recent Lightning nightly (http://www.thunderbird-mail.de/wiki/Lightning), because of the following problem: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=518610
