After selecting an option from a drop down menu, the outer border remains until the mouse is clicked somewhere else on the page
sounds like a dup

Yeah it is a dupe, which I don't have the energy to hunt right now, and besides that I can't reproduce it on Linux Build 2000071308.
It happens on http://www.mozilla.org/quality/help/bug-form.html when selecting operating system...click on the dropdown arrow [v] and then click the white area to the right of the dropdown (or any document whitespace). A tall frame will remain, but when the whitespace is clicked a 2nd time, it disappears. Just as a guess, I'd say it was a focus issue, as tabbing also removes the oversized frame and moves to the next field. This is build 2000071321 on redhat 6.2/x86
repeatable on linux all the time here, and usually marked dup of bug 9809 So..doing that now too. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 9809 ***

This bug is not a duplicate of bug 9809. It has nothing to do with the 'outline' property. Please be more careful when marking and verifying bugs as duplicate. It is a duplicate of bug 39992.
