This a peculiar bug when i download a file example test.sxc no problem with file i see it well it opens the file directly with open office (default).

After i clean the files downloaded, i repeat the process with another file (different contents) but with the same name no problem also the file opens in open office file name in top is test-1.sxc

The problem problem is now when i close open office and press the doenload window (Ctrl+y) it opens the test.sxc and not
test-1.sxc :(

For me no problem but there are some persons that don't open directly with open office so when pressing open on download window it opens the file test.sxc and it should open test-1.sxc

tested on firefox 1.5 and 3.0 same error:(

Firefox downloads the file to the OS temp directory and opens the helper application with this file.

How Do you clean the files downloaded ?
Firefox deletes the file after you closed Openoffice or if Firefox itself will be closed (I'm not sure).
If you don't close it, it's still in the temp directory and downloading another file with the same file means that Firefox must rename the file.

And this seems to be a valid bug, the downlaodmanager didn't know that it renamed the file
