User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.0.3) Gecko/2008092417 Firefox/3.0.3
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.0.3) Gecko/2008092417 Firefox/3.0.3

By quick bookmarks I'm refering to the bookmarks next to "Latest Headlines", could possibly be due to an update from firefox 2.0 to 3.0.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Delete some of the current bookmarks
2.Close browser
3.reopen browser and it is as though you did not delete anything

Expected Results:
when changes are made to the bookmarks they should be saved.

save the settings just before the browser was closed
please can you check in about:config if importBookmarksHTML is set to true and set it to false if that's the case? report results here please.
In my case the problem disappeared after I followed steps in comment 1.
we got no answer, but due to the number of users seeing the importBookmarksHTML issue (and the fact we are only aware of that cause for such a problem) we can suppose that original reporter was seing the same.
