User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.4; en-US; rv:1.9.0.3) Gecko/2008092414 Firefox/3.0.3
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.4; en-US; rv:1.9.0.3) Gecko/2008092414 Firefox/3.0.3
Quitting Firefox and choosing to have it recall tabs at the next load causes all toolbar bookmarks to be deleted. Calling up the bookmark organizer results in a total failure to load.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Quit Firefox
2.Choose to remember tabs
3.Restart Firefox
Actual Results:
Previously stored toolbar bookmarks no longer appear in the toolbar at all (it is completely blank), nor do they appear in the bookmark lists at all. Bookmark organizer fails to load the library itself. (Separate bug?)
Expected Results:
Expected the toolbar bookmarks to appear in their proper place, as they always have before. :)

Does it work in the safemode ?
http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode
or a new profile
http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Managing+profiles
Matt -- thank you for walking me through the process for profile management (Not something Mac users usually get to toy with). It seems to work with a new profile. Why no one else had been able to suggest this before, I'll never know. Question is -- where did corruption happen, along the way?

If the safemode didn't make a difference then it can not be caused by an addon which is causing most problems.
In this case it can be caused by difference settings which can be accessible with the preferences/options or hidden (about:config) or your bookmark database file is somehow broken.
It's difficult to find the reason for this and we can fix such things only if we find the reason but investigating a broken bookmark file (places.sqlite in your profile directory) can not be done by me...
Did you try to import your bookmarks from the "old" profile into the new one ?
>Why no one else had been able to suggest this before
I don't know but not all Mac users are smart enough to do such tasks, maybe that's the reason ?
With the info you're giving me, it looks like things are broken on my end (thank you for pointing me in the right direction as to the where to look and the "why"!) Recreating the "old" into the "new" seems to be fixing the issues.
As for Mac users -- it's more a matter of most not being terribly savvy when it comes to troubleshooting things that are out of the realm of the "click here, magical things will happen!" It gives headaches to those of us who aren't quite so technologically behind the curve, especially when we're just looking for simple answers...

There would be still something to fix.
Firefox should not fail with broken files and the next question is: How got it broken and what got broken that you got this issue.
To find the reason for this and fix this on the Firefox end is not easy and behind my knowledge.
