User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.0.3) Gecko/2008092417 Firefox/3.0.3 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.0.3) Gecko/2008092417 Firefox/3.0.3 In the bookmark toolbar, I have Google as a quick launch button. When I search any site in Google, for example YouTube, and visit that site, the "g" icon that is the standard for Google changes the the YouTube con. This happens everytime I search with Google. This bug does not affect functionality of the browser. This didn't happen with Firefox 2. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Add Google to the bookmark toolbar 2. Use Google to search YouTube 3. Click and visit YouTube.com 4. The icon for Google on the bookmark bar will change to YouTube icon after a few seconds. Actual Results: Happens as I describe it. Google "g" icon changes to YouTube icon. Expected Results: It should be able to keep the icon of Google instead of changing everytime I search something.
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.0.3) Gecko/2008092417 Firefox/3.0.3 I tested this but was not able to reproduce. Does it also happen in safe-mode? http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode

I apologize, I might not have been clear in my reproduction steps. Click on the Google button the bookmark bar first and then search. I am able to reproduce this way. I have not previously tested in safe-mode, but just tested now and it does not happen while in safe mode. I tested again after I got out of safe mode and now the problem has dissapeared. Thanks for looking into this!
I also occasionally see this problem. I use the latest nightlies... At the moment: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; compatible; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.9.1b1pre) Gecko/20081004 Minefield/3.1b1pre ID:20081004034947 As for steps to reliably reproduce, I'm really not sure.
This could be bug 411966 - although, in this case, I would expect it to only happen once per day rather than every time. Re comment #3, note that even though bug 411966 is fixed in trunk, it could take many months - depending on how long a history is kept - before the symptoms disappear.

Bug 451915 - move Firefox/Places bugs to Firefox/Bookmarks and History. Remove all bugspam from this move by filtering for the string "places-to-b-and-h". In Thunderbird 3.0b, you do that as follows: Tools | Message Filters Make sure the correct account is selected. Click "New" Conditions: Body contains places-to-b-and-h Change the action to "Delete Message". Select "Manually Run" from the dropdown at the top. Click OK. Select the filter in the list, make sure "Inbox" is selected at the bottom, and click "Run Now". This should delete all the bugspam. You can then delete the filter. Gerv
