The "new tab" icon has been placed on the right side of the tab bar, and can't be customized in the way it has always been, along with the "new window" icon for example.

Consequently, if you want to avoid large crossings/moves (at a time wide screens become mainstream) to reach the home icon (typically opened right after the new tab), you also need to put this one on the right side of the navigation bar (just above the "new tab" icon), which is quite annoying and implies useless and repetitive moves of the cursor, therefore of your arm, towards the right.

The customization has always been a Firefox strength, so I think it may be a bug.
