Details
For Alpha 3, we linked the product-details repository (http://svn.mozilla.org/libs/product-details/) to the MoMo web site repository.
This gave us the advantage of using the php scripts that mozilla.com has to generate the locale tables.
The problems are:
- if mozilla.com changes this we need to work out the changes to our site (although we are using a static tag import).
- there is going to be some interesting interactions between the repositories. For example, product-details has details of Thunderbird for Thunderbird 2, whereas we have our own file (http://svn.mozilla.org/projects/mozillamessaging.com/tags/staging/includes/thunderbirdBetaDetails.class.php) which specifies the version on mozillamessaging.
The other question is why have FF separated it out - is it to keep those bits restricted from localizers/other folks making mistakes and changing them?
