Details

The OpenSearch browser plugin for searching devmo includes an |&offset={startIndex}| in the URI template, which allows things which do paging to say they would like another page of results. That's fine, but because Firefox doesn't support paging, it always sends |offset=1|, which according to the spec should give results starting with the first result, but Special:Search treats that as a number of results to offset, rather than the index of the desired first result, which means that any search from the plugin will fail to show the first, and most likely to be useful, result STR: 1. Load https://developer.mozilla.org/En in Firefox 2. Drop down the menu in Firefox's toolbar search box 3. Select Add "MDC Search" from the menu 4. With MDC Search selected, type opensearch in the Firefox search box and hit enter 5. Note that the results page says "Viewing results 2 - 12" and lists a talk page as the first result 6. In the search box in the HTML page, where your search has been filled in, hit enter or click the Search button, note that now you get the result you wanted, because you're seeing 1-12 instead of 2-12.
This is actually a Firefox bug.
