RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 218917

People

(Reporter: will.pittenger1+mozbugzilla, Unassigned)

Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.0.3) Gecko/2008092417 Firefox/3.0.3 Build Identifier: Currently, Bugzilla is a gold mine for spammer spiders harvesting e-mail addresses. You might be able to create a DEA (disposable e-mail address), but what would be the point? Disposing of it would break you Bugzilla account. It would be better to hide e-mail addresses completely. This would require that all pages other than preferences show only user names. (UserName instead of myemail@server.com) It would also require the user name to be used by any system (like the IRC Firebot) that reports new bugs and bug changes on publicly accessible networks (like Moznet). Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.

Yes, DEFINITELY. 13 years later and you're still publishing everyone's email addresses to anyone in the world who signs up for a free account? I thought everybody fixed this in 2004.

FIX THIS! I CAN STILL GET ALL EMAIL ADDRESSES FROM EVERYBODY! YOU WONT LET ME DELETE MY POSTS SO I CANT REVERSE MY EMAIL BEING PUBLIC NOW! WTF MOZILLA! LET USER COMPLETELY HIDE THEIR EMAIL ADDRESSES! I WOULD HAVE NEVER USED THIS BUGTRACKER WHEN I WOULD HAVE KNEW ABOUT THIS CRAPPY BEHAVIOUR!
