RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 229117

Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.0.3) Gecko/2008092417 Firefox/3.0.3 Build Identifier: I normally send in plain-text and HTML, but how do plain text readers see my e-mail? TB doesn't show me. It would help if there was a tab just above the edit area or a toolbar button that would let me switch editors and see what the plain-text version would look like. Once I am done with the HTML version, I might want to decouple the two versions and tweak the plain text version. If the e-mail is being sent in HTML only, the plain text version would be a read-only prediction of how other clients would display the e-mail. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.
You can view it by saving it as a draft (if it isn't auto-saved already) and View | Message Body As | Plain text
More steps and you can't override the plain text version
This looks like a duplicate of bug 229117 to me - feel free to reopen if otherwise. Certainly not easy to get right, but I also wonder why we don't allow separate editing of plaintext part vs. HTML part of the message.
Summary: Provide RTF/HTML e-mail senders what recipients would see in plain-text mode → For messages with delivery format Plaintext AND HTML, provide tab with (editable) preview of plaintext part (what recipients will see in plain-text mode)
