I installed Microsoft's Windows Defender and Firefox began to crash after every second download. I uninstalled Defender and all is OK now.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. download a file
2. download a 2nd file
3. crashes
Actual Results:
see above
Expected Results:
downloaded successfully
Put about:config in the addressbar, enter.
Then in the filter box paste:
browser.download.manager.scanWhenDone
Double-click that pref to change it to false. Let us know if it still crashes with Windows Defender installed.

Please try in Safe Mode, in a new profile, and read https://developer.mozilla.org/En/How_to_get_a_stacktrace_for_a_bug_report. You will need to install Defender to follow those steps.
After changing scanWhenDone to false, it no longer crashes.
