can you try the following?
1. export your bookmarks as html from the Library
2. create a new profile
3. import bookmarks from html in the new profile
4. try backup to JSON and then restore (in the new profile)
if that works this is most likely due to bogus tag children (bug 458683) or empty uri nodes (bug 448584).
I'll try howver to analyze your json to see if i can get some more info

that what you wrote worked just fine... but I read the two other bugs you gave links for... and frankly I don't understand what to do to get my saved bookmarks back.... is it still possible anyway and if it IS - how?

Your bookmarks file is incomplete. If you open it in a plain text editor and append "]}]}]}]}" (without the quotes), then your bookmarks restore fine - probably just not all of them...
yes, I realized that the json file was not full when I opened it with a notepad.... but sh*t((( WHY???
and when i put ]}]}]}]} in the end of the json file and tried to restore bookmarks - all my previous disappeared... well... i think nothing much can be done =( this is a huge defect in mozilla 3!!!!!!!!!!
thank you for commenting...

Bug 451915 - move Firefox/Places bugs to Firefox/Bookmarks and History. Remove all bugspam from this move by filtering for the string "places-to-b-and-h".
In Thunderbird 3.0b, you do that as follows:
Tools | Message Filters
Make sure the correct account is selected. Click "New"
Conditions: Body contains places-to-b-and-h
Change the action to "Delete Message".
Select "Manually Run" from the dropdown at the top.
Click OK.
Select the filter in the list, make sure "Inbox" is selected at the bottom, and click "Run Now". This should delete all the bugspam. You can then delete the filter.
