Would it make sense to reduce the blocklist interval to something smaller by default? If we're blocklisting an addon, i would think we'd want the client to pick up the change as soon as possible.

The default setting is currently set to 86400, but something like 60 would be much quicker.
So I guess this is worth looking at. 60 is certainly way too short (that would effectively pull the blocklist every 10 minutes, due to weird logic). The current setting is once a day though which feels reasonably often to me. We don't check for app updates more than once a day and they could be fixing serious security issues in the browser.

Given how rarely we actually seem to be updating the list at the moment I think anything less is going to be wasting bandwidth (a blocklist ping is about 500 bytes right now, will rise as more things are blocked).
once a day seems plenty to me. if we do change to anything more frequent be sure to let ken know since it might have some impact on metrics projects.
I vote WONTFIX, for now at least. We've not had any addon problem more severe than some of our own announced browser vulns, a day seems OK for now.
Yeah I think I agree. While it would be nice for hte client to get the new blocklist almost instantly, a day should be sufficient and won't use up too much bandwidth.
